Kansas City - 21C Hotel
We had the pleasure of visiting the 21C Hotel in Kansas City in November and to sum up our stay in just a few words - it was absolutely amazing! It was our first time visiting and we were literally blown away by everything that KC has to offer! Kansas City is a gem you guys. A friend referenced it like if Dallas and Tulsa were to have a baby it would be KC and honestly it’s the best interpretation!
THE HOTEL
First things first, let me tell you all about the 21C hotel.
21C Hotel is located in the heart of Downtown KC. The hotel is attached to the historic restaurant, The Savoy which is said to be the oldest restaurant in Kansas City. We sadly didn't get the chance to try it out due to COVID restrictions, but I’ve heard it’s incredible and you won’t want to miss out on it during your stay. So make sure to plan accordingly. We plan to go back soon so we can try it out!
The 21C Hotel building and architecture is stunning to say the least. The contemporary art exhibits and luxurious rooms were truly breath taking. They’re even a pet friendly hotel, which I think speaks for itself. The coolest part about 21C Hotels is not only are they a hotel, but also an Art Exhibit Museum and it’s free to all guests. Also, all of their art exhibits are rotating. You will always experience something new each visit and at each hotel.
THE ART EXHIBIT
The art exhibit that is showcased now until June 2021 is called the OFF-SPRING: New Generation exhibit. Here are just a few pictures from the art exhibit that were my favorite. I won’t show them all and spoil it for you, although it’s super tempting because they’re all so beautiful.
THE ROOMS
21C Hotel rooms definitely make my top list of best hotel rooms ever. They were so accommodating during our stay, we loved our corner suite. It was luxurious and brings all the modern vibes.
The bathroom was gorgeous and featured a double sink and all the best amenities.
We had two separate rooms that were conjoined to one access point which was so nice and put my momma mind at ease. The girls had privacy to be silly, while we relaxed in our rooms enjoying the beautiful downtown views.
THE AREA AND LOCAL RESTAURANTS
We checked out a few local restaurants in KC and did some major shopping at the Country Club Plaza. I highly recommend checking out the Plaza if you plan to do some shopping. It’s such a fun vibe and has all the shopping and restaurants!
We had brunch at the Rye before starting our shopping at the Plaza. The Rye is located right on the corner of the plaza shopping area. It was so so so good! I highly recommend their famous cinnamon rolls. Make sure to plan ahead and get there before the cinnamon rolls sell out. We got one to share before our actual food came out and it was the perfect little treat to pair with your mimosa. They’re so big and the perfect sharing portion.
Voltaire was one of my favorite restaurants to visit in KC. Their food was amazing and the vibe was very cool. This was our fancy dinner stop. We all got dressed up and the girls loved it! We even let them get virgin cocktails so they could cheer’s with us. So fun!
We visited Fat Sully’s on our way out of town before we went to IKEA and it did not disappoint. I highly recommend ordering Sully’s Fries as an appetizer. They were delicious! We ate them up so fast!
You seriously have to put KC on your bucket list, it will not disappoint. It was only a few hours away from us so it was a super fun little mini vacay. We plan to go again soon and next time hopefully catch a KC Chiefs game!
