Updated Master Reveal + Favorite Coffee Table Books
Since selling my home back in December (WOW! It’s been a whole year, time sure does fly by) that was nearly 3,000 square ft. and moving into a condo that’s barely half that size. I’ve really had to reevaluate my space and decor. Particularly when it comes to my bedroom. My previous master bedroom was huge and my closet was seriously to die for! Sadly, I sold the home because it was honestly just too big for just Lily and me. It also had a ton of internal issues within 24 hours of purchasing. After I fixed and repaired EVERY piece of plumbing in the home, plus a ton more I just wanted to be free of that responsibility and anxiety. Owning your own home is a BIG DEAL and as a single mom it’s even harder!
If you’ve been following me for awhile you know I love decorating and it’s honestly my stress reliever. I should really find a new stress reliever, maybe the gym? Lol My booty and was it would really appreciate that ha ha! Okay, squirrel….back to what I was saying…. Before I sold my home I felt like I didn’t have enough decor till completely fill out my 3,000 square ft. space and now I feel like I have too much! I’ve had to really become creative and learn to optimize my space without it looking too much of a cluster, yet still have that flare that I love when it comes to my personal style.
For the most part my decor has been the same for the past 5 years or so. I usually buy what I like and piece it together as I go. I love a mix of modern contemporary meets EXTRA glam. I was recently told that I was EXTRA and I wear that title proudly. I wouldn’t be ME if everything I didn’t wasn’t extra. LOL
My favorite prints are black and white stripes, damask, leopard, Dalmatian print and palm leaves. The colors I usually tend to pair with these prints are fuchsia and blue/greens. I’ve combined all of these prints and colors to my bedroom decor and I feel it conveys me perfectly. It’s vibrant and vivacious and meshes together perfectly to create a beautiful fun space.
One of my favorite things to do to give a little extra luxury and color to a room is adding coffee table books. I usually tend to lean more towards designer books because that is my decor style, but any books that kind of coordinate with your space would be the perfect addition. For example: if you have more of a farmhouse vibe to your decor, you could add a Magnolia Table book by Joana Gains or even a great housekeeping book. This will for sure jazz up your space! Your guests will love them and it’s a great topic starter. I’ve created a list of all my coffee table favorite books below to give you some inspiration.
