Snakeskin Booties + Rancher Hat Review
I finally pulled the trigger ladies and splurged on the Lack Of Color Rancher hat and let me just tell you I’m in LOVE! It’s def worth the splurge in my opinion. I got the “Ivory” color and I now want it in ALL colors! The quality is absolutely amazing! I will say I was a little annoyed with the shipping. For one, it was slower than your “normal’ shipping time, but I will get more into that in a moment.
So, when I first received my rancher hat, it didn’t fit. I ordered a size large. The hat comes in 4 different sizes: S, M, L, and XL. The average size I believe is a medium. If you tend to have a smaller size head when it comes to hats, then you’d most likely want to go with a small. I however have a huge head and thick hair. So I figured a large should for sure work. However, the large was too big. I was pretty upset about it because I measured before ordering, referencing the sizing information listed on their website. I emailed Lack Of Color about exchanging the hat for a medium and they stated they would be happy to exchange it, but I would need to ship the hat back and pay for shipping myself. I decided I would do that because I really wanted the hat. When I took the hat to USPS to return it, they stated it would be $60.00 to ship it back! I was not happy about that. I guess that’s why they don’t have a “free return policy” and honesty probably why the hat is so expensive. I will say though the hat was packaged immaculately and in pristine condition upon arriving.
So, before going through the trouble and hassle of shipping it back and paying an outrageous shipping fee, I wanted to confirm on the sizing. I went to a local boutique here in Tulsa that I knew carried the “Rancher” hat to try it on in person. Just a quick back story on why I didn’t just purchase it locally: I received a 10% off coupon from Lack Of Color for signing up for their newsletter and wanted to take advantage of the discount. I recommend doing that if you plan to purchase. So, upon trying the size medium hat on locally, I discovered the medium was too little. I was unsure of what I was going to do at this point. All I knew was I loved the hat and really wanted to style it with my outfits this fall.
Luckily for me a week later I got extensions put in my hair. I figured I would give it one more shot before I listed it online to sell and thankfully it fit perfect! Thank you hair and hat gods! ha ha….I got two rows of extensions so all of the extra hair gave me extra width and it worked out perfectly! So now, I guess I have to keep the extensions in all the time if I plan to wear the Rancher hat.
FYI: I ordered the dupe Rancher hat from Urban Outfitters (which was too small for my big head and only comes in one size) and it was alright but the brim was all messed up when it came in. Basically you get what you pay for. The hat wasn’t packaged well at all. It was basically just thrown in a box. I ended up giving it to my sister. The Lack Of Color rancher hat comes fully packed and secured so that the hat is safe during shipping. It’s seriously pristine when you get it. I know it’s a splurge, so this would be a good Christmas list item for your hubby or significant other.
Snakeskin boots are all the rage this fall and these snakeskin booties are seriously my favorite ever! I wasn’t sure about them when I first saw them in Dillards. I mean, I knew I liked the but I was like hmmm…..what do I style these with? I took a picture of them which I like to do if I like something and not so sure about it or if they’re a little pricey and I don't want to buy them out of impulse. I feel like if you do that and you still think about it days later, you really want them and it’s not just an “impulse buy”. So, I went back and got them and I’m seriously in love with them! They are so fun and add a little extra extra to your outfit. You could wear these booties with just about anything really and practically all-year round. They are a must for your closet!
Okay, so let’s talk about this bodysuit. I purchased this last fall from Reddress. I love it! It’s such amazing quality and it’s so flattering. I tend to be more attracted to white because it contrasts my black hair well. However, I think it’s always a good idea to have a black and white body suit in your closet to grab. They are staples for your closet. You’re able to do so much with them! You can wear them casual, dress them up and wear them under sweaters. It's really endless.
Okay, so I’ve raved about these pants before but….. I will say it again. I seriously LOVE them! They are another splurge item, but SOOOO worth it! The quality of these jeans are insane. The denim is so thick. These are the type of jeans that will last you forever. By the way, a quick tip to help your distressed jeans last longer, DON’T DRY THEM! When you dry distressed jeans they tend to fray up and get more distressed/worn. If you like that look then you could totally dry them, but I feel like I would rather wear them longer and have them looking distressed but not too worn. It’s really all about preference though.
You could totally wear this outfit into the winter by adding a fun cardigan over it! I will add some options below.
